A good Day.....

May 11, 2011

This was a turning point for JT. This day he made a lot of progress.

The night before I watched the nurses give him an awesome bath.

He was all fixed up, sweet, cuddly, and cute. He smelled so good and they took the time to get all the sticky tape and stuff off of him.

I love this little guy so, so much. What a little angel.

Complications.....

A few hours after our baby Jeffrey was born we realized that he was having some struggles.. he was having a really hard time breathing, eating, the basics. In a matter of a few short hours he was admitted to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.

Unfortunately I wasn't yet able to go with him so Tj went with the baby to the nicu. That was really hard having a newborn baby and not being able to see him, or touch him, or hold him.

So Tj went with the baby to the nicu. Once they were there the nurses asked Tj what the baby's name was... Tj told them that his name was JT. After 5 days in the nicu the name JT stuck that is what we now call him is JT.

These are some pictures from JT's journey in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.

CPAP Machince May 9, 2011 about 11:50 p.m.

This is a really hard thing to watch as a parent... I was the weak one I cried alot. Tj was so strong through all of this. Within a few minutes of being admitted to the NICU TJ and my Dad gave little JT a blessing. Unfortunately I was unable to be there...that was hard for me. I tried to be the strong one. When I called my mom about giving JT a blessing I asked if I could have one. Not long after JT got his blessing from My dad and TJ I got one, I needed it, for some reason I was really sad.

That night Tj went home to be with Orvil. I stayed in the hospital. It was one of the slowest, longest nights of my life. It is very anti climatic to have this sweet new baby, and then you can't even hold it or kiss it. And nobody else can hold it or see it either. And the whole time you wonder what's going on with your baby and everything is completely out of your hands.

Introducing......

We would like to welcome to the world our new little bundle of love....

Graduation

Today May 6, 2011

I graduated from Southern Utah University with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

This has been a long time coming for me!!! I am super excited.

I set this goal over 5 years ago. This has been a long time coming, but I did it I made it, I graduated.

I need to personally thank my Mom. She watched Orvil every tuesday, for one year so I could finish this degree. I would not have been able to accomplish this goal if it weren't for her help.

Also thanks to TJ, my sister Erika, and my aunt Beckie for also helping with Orvil so I could go to school.

I am excited to have my BSN. It's official!!!

Log of a Blog......what?

Hey world

This is Ang

So yeah I have now reached the year mark on this sad little blog of mine. I am not going to apologize to anyone... its my own fault. But I am going to write a little list of the adventures we have had this last year as a family and maybe you will understand how crazy life has been.

January
Ang started school again.... 9 credits at Dixie State College (6 of those credits were upper division)
Orvil 9 months old cute as a button, finally sleeping through the night.
Tj working hard trying to find a descent job and also working hard finishing up our landscaping and working on our backyard.

February
Ang still working full time as a nurse, going to school full time, being a mom.
Orvil contracting the awesome illness RSV (probably from Daycare) and then being admitted to the hospital with dehydration and brochiolitis.
Tj Still working on our landscaping, and also running his own business.

March
Ang and TJ celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary.
Orvil still continually getting sick.... lots and lots of ear infections!!! UGh

April
Ang still in school full time. Accepted into the Bachelors of Nursing Program at Southern Utah University. Plan to start in May.
TJ getting alot of really good job interviews but not getting any call backs????
Orvil still frequently sick....can't figure out why.... lot's of ear infections!!

May
Ang starting the Bachelors Program at Southern Utah University, excited to finally start!!
Tj getting a good job with the city of St, George with their landscaping division working mostly at Southgate Golf Course!!!! Yeah!!
Orvil getting his like 7th ear infection referred to an ear, nose and throat doctor scheduled for surgery for tubes!!! Yeah Finally!!!

June
Orvil getting surgery. Baby finally getting better and not so sick.
Ang and TJ get to enjoy a week together without Orvil at Lake Powell. Yeah it was a much needed vacation. Mom was so burned out and tired she basically just slept the first three days of the trip.

July
Orvil still really sick can't figure out why, started an immunity work-up on him. Had to draw his blood one or two times every week for a month. Found some abnormal labs. Orvil had to get a CT scan with conscious sedation. Was found to have a massive sinus infection. We were referred to ear, nose, and throat. His sinus cavity was cultured and he was put on antibiotics.
Ang still in school full time even in the summer, working full time, and trying to take care of and be in charge of all of orvil's crazy medical needs.
Tj being a good dad. Working hard. Running around working two jobs.
Somewhere in the caos Ang and Tj sneak away to Florida for a few days. Much needed time for us as a couple.

August
Orvil..... we learn some bad news he has a really rare really bad bug growing in his sinus cavity. We may need to be referred to primary childrens medical center in SLC.
Ang had some girl problems..... will leave it at that
After a few really bad weeks in a row with Orvil being so sick Tj and I decide it would be best for me to begin working nights.
Ang needed to put school and work on the back burner and focus on her family and being a mom.
So I made the hard decision to work nights.... this was hard for me I had been on day shift in the same area for 4 years. I had to say good bye to alot of really good friends.

September
Orvil still sick.... our doctor in St. George consulted with an Infectious disease doctor at Primary Childrens and Orvil is started on a high dose strong antibiotic for 6 weeks. Ugh I am so sick of all of the medicine I have been having to give Orvil. He is such a little trooper he really has been through alot.
Tj and I really do love him alot..... for those of you who know him he is such a adorable sweet little boy. We love him so much.

October
Happy Halloween. I am planning to do a seperate post for that. Watch for it we really had fun this year!!!!
Tj turns 26 years old!
Ang is pregnant (yep I am going to blog about it) for those of you who don't know...we are going to have another little one in our lives. I am due May 25, 2011... its kinda funny because this is one day different than Orvil's due date.
We are very excited....even though I have been somewhat sick again.

So that about wraps up the last few months.... I am going to post a few things from this summer but I just had a few minutes today and I really wanted to update my blog.

Once again I fill like I have alot to be grateful for.
I also wanted to say thanks to all of those who have been helping our little family this year especially for all of those who have been praying for Orvil.

Thanks it means alot
